The Minnesota Homeownership Center tracks and shares valuable information about affordable homeownership issues and other topics of interest to those working in the affordable housing arena
The Homeownership Opportunity Alliance is a coalition of engaged industry leaders and organizations actively dedicated to closing Minnesota’s homeownership gap between white households and households of color. The goal of this coalition is to provide opportunities to collaboratively develop partnerships, programs, resources and best practices as a catalyst to systemic change.
The Minnesota Homeownership Center maintains comprehensive lists of affordable loan products and localized rehabilitation and repair loan/grant resources. We also offer a Down Payment Assistance tool (powered by Downpayment Assistance Resource) which identifies the various programs a first-time homebuyer may qualify for based on their unique personal circumstances.
Certified Home Stretch workshop providers may order Home Stretch manuals online and pay via credit card or PayPal. A paper form is available for payment by check. Please note the Home Stretch manual is only available to certified Home Stretch workshop providers.

The Center maintains a database of contact information for approved foreclosure prevention counseling agencies available to lenders, servicers and foreclosure attorneys for use in complying with Minnesota State law (MN Statute 580.021). Q: How can I become a certified Home Stretch workshop provider?
A:
Home Stretch workshop providers are recipients of Homeownership Education, Counseling and Training (HECAT) grants administered by the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency. HECAT grants are awarded annually, with the application process occurring each spring. For more information, see Minnesota Housing’s HECAT web page.
